Ever wanted to create a storybook? There’s a new feature in Google’s AI app, Gemini, called “Storybook”.
This is a Google-made Gem, which from a simple prompt creates a 10-page storybook along with illustrations to help tell the story. You can then edit the book by adding more prompts. It also has the feature to read the book out. The book can be downloaded as a PDF.
Here’s a demo of it, where I share how doing a little Udemy course, indirectly got me into Google Workspace and completely changed my life!
It’s not just for kids, you can use it for business or anything where a simple story would make it more fun and engaging.
Ideas for uses:
1. Creating personalised bedtime stories for children: Parents can create unique and engaging stories featuring their own children, their pets, or favourite toys. You can use your own photos and files to make the story even more personal.
2. Developing a visual story for a business idea or presentation: Use Storybook to transform a business concept, a product launch, or a complex report into a visually appealing and easy-to-digest narrative that can be shared with colleagues or clients.
3. Teaching complex concepts in a simple way: You can use Storybook to explain difficult subjects like the solar system, historical events, or scientific principles in a way that is easy for a child (or an adult) to understand and visualise.
4. Crafting stories for language learning: You can create a storybook in a different language, tailored to a specific proficiency level. The read-aloud narration can help with pronunciation and listening skills.
5. Turning family memories into a keepsake: Upload photos from a family vacation, a birthday party, or a special event, and Gemini can weave them into a narrative, creating a unique and memorable storybook to share with family and friends.
6. Giving life to a child’s artwork: Take a picture of your child’s drawing and ask Gemini to create a storybook that brings their creation to life. You can even specify an art style, like claymation, to match the vibe of the drawing.
7. Creating an interactive colouring book: You can prompt Gemini to generate a storybook with a specific illustration style, like a colouring book. You can then print the pages for a fun, hands-on activity.
